Hello folks,I have received my APU2c4 this weekend and it looks awesome. I didnt have much time to spend with it this weekend, hower after assembliting it I quickly tried to connect through serial and I got garbage in console. At the same time I saw the DHCP server giving the APU2 a IP address, which makes me believe the PXE client is on by default? The goal is installing freebsd 11 from a PXE server I have setup, but I wonder why I couldn't see nothing but garbage in console. Probably I am doing somethong wrong, very likely.I used picocom from Ubuntu Linux, picocom -b 115200 -f h /dev/ttyUSB0, but as I said I got garbage in console.

PC Engines apu firmware features. Reading/Writing Serial number to SPI flash. This feature lets user write and/or read serial number which is contained in hidden security register. To use it first, go to security registers menu. NOTE: When writing new serial number, only 9 first characters are taken, even if user gives more.

I bought usbcom1a from your store and I am using it to connect to serial.Got a few questions here is. Do I need to something on first boot in order to enable serial console?
Also, is PXE client enable by default? Thanks, Pietro. Also you might need some level-shifting. There is a difference between TTL and RS232. TTL should be when you connect your FTDI directly to an internal com port.
But the APU2 uses an external RS232 port. These have different voltage levels. For TTL i am using the FTDI of an arduino nano, but for RS232 i bought a standard USB to RS232 adaptor with FTDI, so it takes care of the voltage levels.I have read that the APU2 also has an internal TTL com port, but the BIOS is not using it and only communicates through the external RS232 which has different voltage. For reference:https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/215.
